✨ I'm Grim, also published as G. Grimoire and Ricasso Fiction. I'm a writer, interactive fiction developer, Mediterranean classicist, decaying spellbook, degenerate, and the organizer of #MytholoJam. Strange old stuff is what I'm all about.
When I'm not writing or trying to find trenches to dig pot sherds out of, I might be huffing poisonous liqueurs, consumed with existential dread, or unconscious. My work is influenced by an interest in the uncanny and grotesque, as well as ritual, masks, autonomy, and the macabre.
|🕯️ HERETIC'S HOPE ❖ A serpent counsels you in your dreams; Her Excellency's Synod advises you when you wake. You are the only human left on the isolated island of Achthoven, and you must navigate the rigid hierarchy of a ruthless insectoid court and the omens that govern it.|
👁️ MOURN ❖ The Blight condemns you to a strange curse and invites you to overcome it. Mourn is a newly in-development project focusing on excruciatingly tailored (mis)fortune, weird eyeballs, and dynamic UI.
🏚 WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE ❖ Restore order to an eerie estate after something goes bump in the night. WDYTYA is a narrative about identity, guilt, and the shadows that haunt old houses. It is currently being remade as a longform interactive fiction piece.
✏️ OTHER WORK ❖ Experiments, concepts, and jam entries will turn up here from time to time. Larger projects other than the above remain mostly under wraps for now, but development details of all ongoing projects are sometimes posted on Twitter!
#MytholoJam is a series of biannual beginner-friendly game jams which encourage participants to create projects based on antiquity and mythology while viewing antiquity through a multicultural lens. Check out entries from all three MytholoJams in the collection below!
